It's not perfect by any means but Grand Theft Auto IV is pretty tedious at times with the staple shitty Rockstar mission design. I just finished Ballad of Gay Tony yesterday and I played Grand Theft Auto V pretty recently and I think it's a much better game. thought his nose was a kangaroo and the moon was a dog wooohooo!"Ī lot of this is Peter Fonda's delivery, who nails it, but the writing is pretty good in a lot of these segments. "Shoot?! I'm a hippy! The only thing I've shot is acid, though I once knew a guy who snorted it once. "Faster? There's 3-tons of grass on board and the engine block is held together with a macrame hammock and it's running on 15-year-old cooking oil!" "You have to take the wheel I haven't driven in 15 years."

I legitimately smile at every scene that The Truth is in: I was replaying the game and there's a lot of moments in that game that I Was laughing at the absurdity of some of it. Meanwhile, 20 years later, I genuinely think that aspects of GTA:SA have really clever writing.

It's just so lame that adult men made this and that's their jokes. And the jokes are changing the Met Life building to the Get-a-Life building, and the Statue of Liberty to Hillary CLinton holding a starbucks cup. It's another thing in ~2008, and the game has this *serious* tone, wow, a ruthless take on the hopelessness of the American dream. It's one thing in GTAIII-universe, made in 2000 when peak comedy on TV was. And then it was loaded up withs o much garbage that unless something was a featured playlist, you'd guarantee to never play it with other human beings. The invite system was so bad in GTA Online. Otherwise it's just you sitting alone in a lobby, someone connects, sits around for 90 seconds, disconnects, etc. The incentives in GTA Online basically killed off any PvP organized gameplay modes like that unless it was a featured mode for 2x xp or 2x cash or something. But good luck ever launching one of those games with players in it. They had a ton of super fun modes at launch, like the "Top Fun" modes, which mostly involved a team of escapees on motorbikes and a team of hunters in something like an Apache chopper or fighter jet. GTAV killed the ability to play organized modes. It was crazy fun, with amazing sandboxy gameplay depending on the weapons, vehicles, and coordination between teams. Cops n' Crooks maybe? Basically a team of 5 cops, a team of 5 crooks, different weapons, crooks had to get to an armored vehicle and steal it, deliver it for a win. They only had a few of the staged mission games, I forget what they called them.

It was just very easy to get into a simple versus game.
